We are blessed with Jesus-loving men and women who take seriously the charge to make disciples.

Troy Conrad - Pastor

Troy is a graduate of Greenwood High School, Ouachita Baptist University where he received Bachelor degrees in Philosophy and English, and Asbury Theological Seminary. Troy is the father of three boys, Corey, Aric and Brandon and the husband of Shelli. His interests include writing, woodworking, and teaching. His passion in the church is foreign and domestic ministries, disaster relief ministries, small group ministries, and spiritual formation ministries.

Karen Guinn & Michael Guinn - Administrator

Karen grew up in the Sardis Community and graduated from Bryant High School 1983. She attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She and her husband Michael were married in 1985 and have two children, Maddison and Hannah. Karen is a lifelong member of Sardis Church and was hired as the full-time office manager in January 2007.

Danny and Lisa Adams - Traditional Worship

Danny and Lisa Adams have been married for 14 years and live here in Sardis with Lisa's daughters, Jackie Mosely and Tiffany Tidwell, and granddaughter, Keelee Tidwell, who is an active member of our children's worship. Lisa is the Music Minister for our 8:30 traditional service and Danny serves as song leader. Lisa says, "Danny is my rock and I couldn't begin to do all that I do without his help and support. Together we balance each other out and make a good team." Outside the church, Lisa is the Inside Sales Manager for Berendsen Fluid Power in Little Rock, where she has been employed for 31 years. Danny also has a long-standing 28-year career with Sardis Water Association, where he is the Plant Superintendent. "We don't jump around much," they say. "We pour our hearts into our jobs and into our church, serving the Lord and sharing His blessings as we go." Danny is on the Board of Trustees, a member of our "Sheep Dogs," and is a past president of our UMM. He is currently the Lay Leader to the Council, assisting the pastor however needed. Danny is also a Justice of the Peace and has performed many weddings throughout the years. (He also does whatever Lisa tells him to do!) Lisa has been the SUMC pianist since she was 16 years old! Along with her busy work schedule, she practices the piano several hours every week, learning new solo prelude pieces and searching for new choir anthems. "Playing the piano is my way of de-stressing," Lisa adds. "If my music adds joy to the service or leads just one person closer to God, then I'm doing just what He wants me to do." Lisa has attended SUMC her entire life, and Danny has been a member since 1985. Ironically, their children grew up together in this church Danny has three grown children from a previous marriage - Shon and Stan Adams, and Kim Billingsley - and nine grandchildren. Danny and Lisa both served in the church together for 25 years before the thought of sharing their lives was ever an inkling of an idea. God truly works in mysterious ways!

Tim and Kristina Eubanks - Contemporary Worship

Tim and Kristina are blessed with their bundle of joy Whitley. Whitley is four years old. Tim has been coming to Sardis for 15 years and Kristina has been at SUMC for four years. Tim was a member of the youth praise band while he was still in high school. He has continued serving the Lord with music through the years by being a member of our contemporary worship band. Recently, Tim accepted God’s calling on his life and accepted the position to lead our contemporary service worship team. We are so excited to see how God uses Tim to allow the Holy Spirit to work at Sardis. Kristina has been Tim’s support system through this journey. She has encouraged, praised and has always been there for Tim. Kristina will soon begin to teach the Senior High Youth Sunday school class. Whitley loves Mrs Karen’s preschool Sunday school class and Mrs Jessica’s children’s church. Most recently Whitley was a sheep in our children’s Christmas play, Tim and Kristina said she was the cutest sheep they have ever seen. In their spare time they enjoy taking Whitley swimming at Nana’s and Papaw’s house. They have been known to go to Wild River Country a few times as well. They enjoy having friends and family over to their house to grill. Tim has become good on the grill, you should ask him to grill you something. Whitley enjoys cooking in the kitchen as well. Tim and Kristina are in The Livingston’s small group and consider each member their best friends (ask them about joining this small group if you aren’t involved in one). Kristina is currently in school to get her masters in Speech Language Pathology and will graduate in May 2019. Tim’s side job is a pharmacist at East End Pharmacy (This family is smart). When asked what they like most about SUMC they say it’s ‘Being Home’. SUMC is blessed to have this family of three in our congregation. It has been a blessing watching how God is using them to make disciples. Please join us Sunday and experience ‘being home’ at church.

Shelby and Chase - Contemporary Worshp

Chase has been a part of Sardis since 2012 when he began courting Shelby…… Shelby, however, has been a part of Sardis since she was just a young lady in junior high school. They have two wonderful pups: Grizzy and Pepper. They both are very active at Sardis.  Shelby and Tim Eubanks share duties as our Contemporary Service Worship Leader. Chase has some wonderful talents as well and being married to the worship leader means he is also part of the worship team. If they could play all the instruments at once, they could be their own band. Apart from playing music together, they both keep very busy. Chase is a Professional Chef and is always preparing and serving for others. Shelby is in graduate school and serving a dietetic internship in Texarkana. Sardis to Texarkana can be a long drive, but God wonderfully placed them in Arkadelphia, AR, which is about the half way mark. When they have a little free time, which not very often, Shelby loves to show Chase how to cook………they love watching moving and hanging with their little doggies. Shelby loves when duck season arrives, because Chase loves to duck hunt and she has the house to herself so she can bring her crafty ideas to life. They play such a vital part of making Sardis a very loving and friendly church to be a part of. If you have not gotten to know Chase and Shelby, take some time and visit with them. You will love their fun loving and friendly personalities.

Greg and Sabrina Crane - Youth Leaders

Sabrina has been coming to Sardis since 1997 and Greg joined her in 2014. Greg and Sabrina got married in our church on May 6, 2017. This magnificent duo are parents to two fur babies: Maggie Mae and Lola Lou. They enjoy spending time walking, playing and taking Maggie and Lola for rides. Greg and Sabrina love family and love SUMC. Greg is an outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and mountain biking. Sabrina is a care-giver. She enjoys doing anything she can to help anyone! Sabrina sits with an elderly woman which is a calling God has placed on her heart. This couple loves life and tries to soak in all the ways God has blessed them. When asked what they like most about Sardis they said: “We love our church family! We get so much love and support from everyone. We love you all and appreciate everything everyone does! Sardis is special because we shared our vows of marriage in front of God, family and our church family there, Praise God!” They serve by being present in Sunday school (they attend His Family Sunday School Class), the contemporary service as greeters and serve as communion stewards. They have both attended Walk to Emmaus. They love to help with other missions in the church like Dare to Share and the clothes closest. Sardis is blessed to have this couple who demonstrate God’s unconditional love to everyone they meet. They will serve others and be joyful while doing it.

Michael and Lorelei Aulenback - Children's Ministers

Michael and Lorelei have been members of SUMC since 2010. God has blessed them with three children: Abigail, Presley, and Mckaylee. The Aulenback’s enjoy camping together, fishing and they also love to swim, obviously they love the warm weather months. Speaking of warmth, Michael and Lorelei absolutely love the warmth that the Sardis Church family has provided and continues to provide to their family. The Sardis Church family has provided everything from prayers, food, personal visits, among other things when the Aulenback’s were in need. Most of all they were provided with love during the struggles of premature babies, surgeries, and bed rest. Abigail, Presley, and Mckaylee were all baptized at Sardis United Methodist Church and they love Sunday school time with all the other kiddos. Lorelei has become involved with Sardis’ new support mission of Methodist Children’s group home and Canvas mission. Christ is using Lorelei and her wonderful family to show His love to others through these missions. The Aulenback’s say that SUMC is a family of loving people.

Stan and Rose - Custodians

Stan and Rose Heflin have been married for 35 years. They have been members of SUMC for 17 years. Stan and Rose have been blessed with three daughters: Natasha Davis, Courtney Adams and Carlie Heflin. They have 2 grand-daughters which they spoil at every opportunity. They live in the East End community. They were invited to SUMC by a friend of Carlie’s (Morgan Hall and parents, Donovan and Bobbi Hall). At that time contemporary service was in the Family Life Center. When they walked in and were immediately welcomed by Tammi Green. She was just the first of many people who made them feel so welcome that day. It just felt like they had found their home. Stan and Rose stay very busy as they have a daycare in their home. Rose loves children and in her spare time she likes to bake, sew and she loves getting outside to enjoy nature. Stan likes to read, play word games and he loves staying indoors and enjoying his air conditioning. They love to travel when they can. They both are Disney addicts who love to visit Walt Disney World and love to go on cruises. SUMC is family; they feel at home and at peace there. They currently serve as ushers and communion stewards. They clean the church weekly and Stan volunteers in the Children’s Ministry. SUMC is beyond blessed to have this amazing couple in our church. They show God’s love by being present, by serving others, witnessing to everyone, giving of themselves (both time and money) and praying for the church, its members and God’s glorious kingdom.
